The “Home Unit” is designed to be a whole house water treatment system for either municipally treated water or well water.  The filters are 20” long and designed for long service life.  Filters available from other sources are much smaller and have to be changed frequently.  Expected filter element service life for the “Home Unit” will normally exceed two years before they will need to be replaced.

The magnetic core scale control unit is permanent and never needs to be serviced or replaced.

The unit is plumbed into the home’s existing plumbing and can be installed either in vertical or horizontal configuration.  The enclosed picture is a horizontal configuration.

The water enters the unit at the inlet position and exits at the magnetic core scale control unit at the outlet position.

The complete unit can be pre-manufactured and delivered as seen in the picture, or we can supply all or some of the components.

Home Unit Specifications for Municipal Water

  • Filter 1 is a 5 micron filter to remove dirt, rust, and other particulates.
  • Filter 2 is a taste and odor, silver impregnated carbon filter that will remove chlorine and other solvents.
  • The scale control unit is installed on the outlet of the system.
  • Isolation valves are installed so that the filter elements can be easily changed.
  • All copper pipe and fittings are 1” .  Adapters are available to reduce the 1” to ¾” for normal household plumbing.

Home Unit Specifications for Well Water

  • Filter 1 is a 100 micron pre-filter.
  • Filter 2 is either a 5 micron polishing filter or an iron removal filter, depending on the water quality.
  • The scale control unit is installed on the outlet of the system.
  • Isolation valves are installed so that the filter elements can be easily changed.
  • All copper pipe fittings are 1”.  Adapters are available to reduce the 1” to ¾” for normal household plumbing.

NOTE

Well water can have a myriad of issues such as bacteria, solvents, high iron content, arsenic, numerous other heavy metals, and other solids.  We can design a treatment system for any application, but we would need a water sample to determine the components to be removed.  However, the standard system, as pictured, will solve the majority of well water applications.
